I suppose my topic that I tend to write a lot about is writing and hurling. Yes, I know that's three topics but they really are my topics.

I write about writing because it's what i want to do and as long as i'm writing then i'm doing something towards achieving that goal, even if that something is writing about how bloody blocked I am and how desperate i am to find inspiration from anywhere, from anything.

I write about GAA because, quite simply, it is the greatest organisation in the world. And it's games are the greatest in the world. Where on earth or any earth for that matter would you find a game as skillfiul, as fast, and as beautiful as the game of hurling played properly? It's an artform and when you get the right artist, colour and beauty, brilliance and amazement explode around a spectator and for those 70 mintes you can believe that anything is possible. I can't tell you how many times I've cried over hurling matches. They are the source of pretty much all of my emotional depth - tears for victorys and tears for defeat - tears for joy and tears for pain. But what else are tears for except shedding? What better way to use  them than to voice a feeling of emotion that gos so deep inside you it feels as though it might rip you apart if you can't express it. Nothing for me will ever describe passion the way the heart shines through the men and women on the field who pay to represent their club, county and selves. I am trying in vain to explain how much the GAA and game of hurling in particular means to me but it is too difficult, because let's face it, there aren't enough words to describe something that means the world, the sun, the moon, the stars and the very heart of your existence.

Wexford footballers versus Meath in the first round of the Leinster Football championship this year!

Ok, so i don't think that's the comeback that the question meant but by heck this WAS a comeback. 10 points down at half time, looking like they were dead and buried, the Wexford boys came out and scored three unanswered points to give them that vague hope of being back in the running. Then, disaster, Meath pulled back three points to give them a ten point advantage again.

Wexford were dead and gone, the greatest disappointment to the county since, well, possibly ever. And then, BANG, two quick goals and the Yellowbellies were back! It was about that time that i lost my voice...

Anyway, the story continued, and it wouldn't be possible for someone to write it. Sharpshooter Mattie Forde got a ball on the right wing in the dying minutes of the game and slotted it over the bar to see Wexford into the next round. Wexford pulled back a 10 point deficit in 20 minutes

Now THAT'S a comeback!

Hmmmm.....Well, this is my first LiveJournal Post and to be honest the only reason i'm doing it is because it keeps staring me in the face on the side of my profile, so really i'm doing this to fight the machine!

Anyway, I kinda don't really have much to say right now. I'm gonna go explore some communities and stuff so, I'll post back here whenever I have something interesting to say...which might be never, but probably sooner!!!
